Uttarakhand: The team from the center inspected the disaster affected areas of Uttarakhand, took information about the losses from the local administration

The inter-ministerial central team on Monday conducted a field visit to various districts to inspect the areas affected by disasters like heavy rainfall and landslides in the state. The team made a detailed observation of the situation arising out of the disaster and assessed the problems, damage and necessary relief work of the affected people. Before the inspection, the team reached the State Emergency Operation Center at USDMA in the morning and held a meeting. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman gave a presentation to the team about the damage caused by the disaster.

Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Suman said that this year there has been a lot of rain compared to the last few years, so the damage has also been very high. The state has faced severe disasters like Dharali and Tharali. Due to disasters, people’s livelihood has been affected on a large scale. Agriculture, horticulture, trade, tourism, business have suffered a lot. He said that every possible effort is being made by the state government to normalize the lives of the people in the disaster affected areas of the state and in this direction, full support is being provided by the central government.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Anand Swaroop, Additional Chief Executive Officer Implementation DIG Rajkumar Negi, Finance Controller Abhishek Kumar Anand, Joint Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Obedullah Ansari etc. were present.

The first team reached Dharali, interacted with the people

Dehradun. A team of inter-ministerial central team visited the disaster affected areas of Dharali-Harsil in Uttarkashi district on Monday and conducted a field inspection. The team members reached Army Helipad Harshil at around 11 am. District Magistrate Prashant Arya was given detailed information about the damage to assets and data related to loss of life due to the disaster. The team conducted a field inspection of the disaster affected areas of Mukhaba, Harshil, Dharali. They also interacted with the local officials working in the affected area in the Dharali disaster and the affected people. The local people put their problems before the team and requested for their resolution. The disaster affected people informed about the damage to their various assets including houses, hotels, gardens, crops and businesses and demanded the team to provide rehabilitation, employment, restoration and situation compensation soon. During the inspection, the team assessed the damage to infrastructure, roads, bridges, public buildings, electricity and water supply lines as well as the damage to agriculture, crops, livestock and other means of local livelihood.

Team leader R. Prasanna, Joint Secretary in the Government of India, said that information about the loss of life and property of the disaster affected people is being taken through the local administration. The team will submit a report to the government regarding the damage to the affected people’s houses, livelihood, lands, crops etc. and after that the relief package will be announced. Other members of the team are Director Finance Shailesh Kumar, Chief Engineer Pankaj Singh, Deputy Director Vikas Sachan.

The second team took stock of the situation in Tharali

Dehradun. With the aim of assessing the damage caused by the disaster, the inter-ministerial team of the Government of India reached Tharali area of ​​Chamoli district on Monday. The team conducted aerial survey of the disaster affected areas as well as ground inspection and closely studied the condition of the disaster affected areas. The team first conducted an aerial survey of Chepado, Kotdip, Iradibagh, Mopata and Nandanagar affected areas of Tharali and also inspected the damaged areas by road.

District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari gave detailed information about the damage to the assets department wise due to the disaster through PPT in a meeting held at Kulsari Relief Center. He gave detailed information to the team about the landslides happening behind the houses of local people in Chepado market and other disaster affected areas. He said that due to continuous rain and landslides, roads, bridges, buildings, drinking water schemes, power system and agriculture have suffered heavy damage.

During the field visit, the team also talked to the local residents. He found that the rain and landslides have severely affected the transportation facilities of the villagers and many villages have been completely cut off from the main road. Houses have been damaged at many places and some families have had to be displaced to safer places.

The inter-ministerial central team was led by Director Dr. Virendra Singh. The team included Under Secretary Sher Bahadur, Superintending Engineer Sudhir Kumar. Dr. Virendra Singh said that the main purpose of his visit is to assess the actual damage caused by the disaster so that on the basis of the report submitted to the Government of India, necessary assistance and reconstruction work can be planned quickly for the affected areas.
