Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced major relief for apple farmers in the disaster-affected Dharali village and surrounding areas of Uttarkashi district. The CM said that the government will now purchase apples from these areas.
Government to Purchase Apples from Farmers
According to CM Dhami, Royal Delicious apples from Dharali and the surrounding area will be purchased at Rs. 51 per kg, and Red Delicious and other varieties (excluding Grade-C apples) at Rs. 45 per kg. This purchase will be made through the Horticulture Department, and the necessary funds will be provided from the Chief Minister’s Proclamation.
Instructions Given to Issue Government Order
The Chief Minister’s Office has directed the Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, to ensure immediate action and issue a government order granting financial and administrative approval. He has also been ordered to immediately inform the Chief Minister of the status of compliance with this announcement. This government move is expected to provide significant relief to apple growers in the disaster-affected areas.
