Dhami, on a visit to Delhi, met the Union Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, and sought permission for seven hydropower projects in Uttarakhand.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with Union Minister for Forests, Environment, and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav in New Delhi to seek his support for the development and construction of seven hydropower projects (total capacity 647 MW) in Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister stated that the state is fully committed to the purity, uninterrupted flow, and environmental protection of the Ganga and its tributaries.
The Chief Minister stated that a decision has been made to establish a sports university in Haldwani to provide youth with employment opportunities through sports. A proposal to transfer approximately 12,317 hectares of forest land in the Gaulapar area has been sent to the Forest Department. The Chief Minister requested the Union Minister to direct the relevant officials to take necessary action for the land transfer. The Union Minister gave in-principle consent and assured all possible cooperation.
Secretary for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Government of India, Tanmay Kumar, Principal Secretary of Uttarakhand, R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Special Secretary, Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, and Local Commissioner Ajay Mishra were present on the occasion.
