Uttarakhand / Dehradun: BJYM General Secretary crushed by a speeding car, painful death

A horrific road accident occurred in Dehradun late Saturday evening. A car hit Jitendra Singh Bisht, former student union president of DAV PG College, near St. Jude’s School on the Shimla Bypass Road. Bisht tragically died on the spot.

The accident occurred around 7:45 p.m. Saturday evening. According to police, a vehicle traveling from St. Jude Chowk toward Transport Nagar lost control and struck several people. Upon receiving the information, a police team immediately arrived at the scene. By then, people nearby had already rushed the injured to the hospital.

After the accident, the driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. Jitendra Bisht, son of Birendra Singh Bisht, a resident of Chandrabani, died in the accident, while Hrithik Rajput, a resident of Chandrabani, was injured. The car is believed to belong to Muzammil, a resident of Buddhi, who had given his car to the workshop for repairs.

Accused Driver Arrested
According to police, a workshop worker named Abbu took the vehicle out of the workshop to check its maintenance. While returning, the car went out of control about 40 meters from the workshop, resulting in the accident. Police have detained the workshop owner, Wasim, while the search for the accused driver is ongoing.
