The Chief Minister stated that the Kumaon Dwar Festival is not just a cultural celebration, but a connection to our identity, our roots. The number of participants is growing every year. He added that the festival also provides a platform for our artists, an opportunity to showcase their art, and honors them. Congratulating the event, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to all the folk artists who performed at the festival, saying that all artists are making a significant contribution to promoting our cultural heritage. This event is a clear proof that even in this era of technology and globalization, the festival is doing a wonderful job of connecting our future generations to our roots. The local folk artists have also worked tirelessly to bring Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage to the world. Folk artists from Uttarakhand are transcending the borders of Uttarakhand and traveling abroad to showcase Uttarakhand’s culture on the world’s largest stage. He said that the Prime Minister wore the Brahma Kamal cap of our state in 2026, and since then, our cap has become our identity throughout the country and the world.

The Chief Minister said that the government is continuously working to preserve and support the state’s folk language and culture. A list of folk artists is also being compiled in the state, which helps verify them so they can receive timely assistance. During the COVID-19 pandemic, approximately 3,200 listed artists were provided financial assistance of ₹2,000 per month. In addition, artists who have dedicated their lives to the field of folk art are also receiving a monthly pension. Six-month folk training workshops are also being organized under the Guru-Shishya tradition, through which the younger generation is being made aware of the importance of our ancient culture. The state government is also providing financial assistance to folk artists, which is helping to preserve and develop this culture. The government is honoring outstanding literary figures through the Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman, Sahitya Bhushan, and Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The Chief Minister stated that this decade is the decade of Uttarakhand. This statement by the Honorable Prime Minister has filled us with energy and encouragement. If anyone can take the lead in carrying forward this statement of the Prime Minister, it will be our mothers and sisters.

During this period, the Chief Minister also appealed to everyone to embrace the Prime Minister’s mantra of “Adopt Swadeshi, Strengthen the Country” and to use as many indigenous products as possible. In his address, he stated that the Kumaon Dwar Festival will prove to be an important event in preserving and promoting our cultural traditions.

During this period, the Chief Minister also visited stalls showcasing local products made by women self-help groups, which is an important step towards empowering women economically. He also spoke about providing financial assistance to women under the “Lakhpati Didi Yojana,” which is empowering women in the state to become self-reliant.

Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, IG Riddhima Agarwal, SSP PS Meena, District Officer in-charge Anamika, along with other public representatives, folk artists and a large number of local people were present in the program.
