Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered the immediate cancellation of orders issued by the District Panchayat Raj Officers of Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi regarding the installation of house number plates, and a thorough investigation into the matter and necessary action against the culprits.
It is noteworthy that letters from the District Panchayat Raj Officers of Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi districts, alleging that the task of installing house number plates to promote programs like the Swachh Bharat Mission in rural areas was outsourced to an outsider, went viral on social media.
Taking cognizance of these incidents, the Chief Minister directed officials to take immediate action in this regard. He emphasized that all schemes and programs must be implemented in the public interest, with transparency, and impartiality, in accordance with the government’s resolve. Directing that all projects and programs must be fully prioritized for local people’s employment and interests in all projects, the Chief Minister reiterated that government orders regarding prioritizing local people in government procurements up to ₹10 crore must be strictly followed at all levels.
