Uttarakhand: IPS Lokeshwar Singh resigns from police service, will serve in UN-affiliated organization

IPS officer Lokeshwar Singh resigned from the police service on Tuesday. His resignation will now be sent to the central government by the state government. IPS Lokeshwar was currently serving as the Pauri SSP.

He has been selected for an international organization affiliated with the United Nations. Confirming his resignation, DGP Deepam Seth wished Lokeshwar Singh well for his future. Lokeshwar Singh is a 2014 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. During the past 11 years, he has served in key positions within the Uttarakhand Police, making significant contributions to strengthening law and order and public safety in the state.

He has served in the districts of Haridwar, Dehradun, Bageshwar, Champawat, and Pithoragarh. Now, in his new international role, he will contribute to advancing global objectives such as institutional integrity, peacebuilding, and sustainable development. As a first formality before joining the organization, he has resigned from the police service. DGP Deepam Seth has confirmed his resignation.

Wishing Lokeshwar Singh well for his future, he said that his new appointment will further strengthen India’s representation and influence internationally. He hopes that he will perform his new responsibilities with the same dexterity as he has performed his duties in Uttarakhand.
