Uttarakhand: 10,000 candidates from the state will get the benefit of free coaching scheme, Chief Secretary has given instructions to ensure quality

A review meeting was held in the Secretariat auditorium under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan regarding the free coaching scheme for students from weaker sections of society for competitive examinations.

The Chief Secretary directed the Education Department to improve the quality of the free coaching scheme, ensure selection of candidates through screening, and ensure preparation time is arranged as per the convenience of the candidates. He directed that free coaching should not be a mere formality and must yield results. He directed that all procedures be completed expeditiously.

During this meeting, Director of Education, Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati, informed that 10,000 students will receive free coaching for competitive examinations this year. Candidates studying in Class 11 will receive two years of coaching, while those who have passed Class 12 will receive one year of coaching.

He stated that coaching will be provided for all three streams: Arts, Science, and Commerce, and will cover preparation for almost all examinations.

In addition, meritorious candidates will also receive six years of advanced coaching. On this occasion, Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Additional Secretary Manuj Goyal and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
