Uttarakhand: MP Sports Festival begins in Dehradun, inaugurated by CM Dhami, will conclude on December 25

Under the Khelo India and Fit India Movements of the Government of India, sports festivals are being organized in various states. In this context, the Sansad Khel Mahotsav was also organized in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated it on Monday from the Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya in Dehradun.
All the MPs of Uttarakhand will also organize the Sansad Khel Mahotsav in their respective constituencies. In the first phase, sports competitions for students will be held at the Panchayat level. The sports competitions include five Olympic and three traditional sports. The winners at the Panchayat level will compete at the block level in the second phase. After this, the block-level winners will compete at the district level in the third phase. The national-level sports competitions began on September 21st as part of the Seva Pakhwada. The Khel Mahotsav will conclude with an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 25th.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Indian athletes are showcasing their talent in every field. In this vein, the Uttarakhand government is also making efforts to promote sports culture in the state and encourage both male and female athletes. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that after becoming Prime Minister, PM Narendra Modi launched numerous programs to encourage athletes in the field of sports. Through Khelo India and the Fit India Movement, among other initiatives, athletes are emerging. In this vein, the Sansad Khel Mahotsav has also begun.
The Sansad Khel Mahotsav was launched in coordination with Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal. This sports festival will provide all athletes and students with the opportunity to showcase their talents and advance in sports. The Chief Minister stated that the Uttarakhand government has implemented a new sports policy and numerous schemes to uplift and promote athletes in the state. 23 sports academies are being established in eight major cities of the state. A sports legacy plan is also being developed, which will train thousands of athletes each year. Uttarakhand athletes performed well at this year’s National Games.
