Preparations in full swing for President Draupadi Murmu’s visit to Uttarakhand

The Dhami government has decided to celebrate the State Foundation Day this year as the Silver Jubilee year. Consequently, President Draupadi Murmu may address a special session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, and preparations for this are underway. Regarding the President’s proposed visit, the Additional Secretary of the President’s Secretariat held a meeting with officials in Dehradun. Instructions were given to complete the President’s Park and other ongoing projects on time. Construction of the horse riding arena and foot overbridge at Rashtrapati Niketan has been completed and will be inaugurated soon.
Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Additional Secretary of the President’s Secretariat, held a meeting with officials in Dehradun regarding President Draupadi Murmu’s proposed visit to Dehradun. Reviewing the preparations for the President’s proposed visit, Rakesh Gupta urged that the President’s Park, as well as other ongoing projects in Dehradun, be completed on time. The meeting also discussed the outline of the President’s upcoming visit to Dehradun and the progress of ongoing projects within the President’s Estate.
Following the establishment of Rashtrapati Niketan and Rashtrapati Tapovan in Dehradun, as part of the significant initiative to transform the President’s estates into “the House of the Nation,” work on the significant Rashtrapati Park is progressing rapidly. The Rashtrapati Park, spanning a vast 132 acres, is targeted for completion by next year. The Rashtrapati Park’s vision is based on the principles of accessibility, sustainability, and community participation. Established as a major center of public participation, culture, and civic pride, the park will feature theme-based floral and botanical gardens, a butterfly house and aviary, and a picturesque lake. The country’s second-tallest national flagpole will be a key element of the park’s identity.
The park will also feature walking and cycling tracks, an open-air theatre with a capacity of over 800 people for cultural activities, a public library, and a food plaza. A new attraction, the horse riding arena, will soon be available to the public within the Rashtrapati Niketan complex. Where the public will be able to observe up-close the riding and care methods of the President’s Bodyguard’s horses. Kumar Samaresh, Public Relations Officer of the President’s Secretariat, stated that the newly constructed horse riding arena and over-foot bridge are likely to be inaugurated during President Draupadi Murmu’s upcoming visit.
President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated Rashtrapati Niketan and Rashtrapati Tapovan on June 20th. Both sites are becoming a major attraction for tourists and local residents. Kumar Samaresh, Public Relations Officer of the President’s Secretariat, stated that in the past four months, 4,753 people visited Rashtrapati Niketan and 15,567 visited Rashtrapati Tapovan. He added that the under-construction Rashtrapati Park is expected to receive 2 million visitors annually. The meeting was attended by Dehradun District Magistrate Dr. Sabin Bansal, Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari, Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh, Dehradun Chief Municipal Officer Namami Bansal, and several other officials.
