Uttarakhand is completing 25 years of statehood. Consequently, the state government is celebrating this 25th anniversary as its Silver Jubilee year. In this context, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the state’s establishment on Friday. The CM also conducted a mega lucky draw under the “Bill Lao, Inam Pao” campaign at the Secretariat. Organized by the Uttarakhand State Tax Department, this event selected 1,888 lucky draw winners. Sonia from Nainital district and Jaspal Rawat from Tehri district each won an electric car as the first winners.
During the event, CM Dhami spoke with both winners over the phone and congratulated them. The CM stated that the “Bill Lao, Inam Pao” scheme will continue in the state. He added that this innovation has given a new vigor and energy to the state’s revenue collection. Launched in 2022, this scheme attempts to directly integrate public participation into the tax system. Under this scheme, information on transactions worth ₹263 crore was uploaded through 650,000 bills.
The Chief Minister stated that this has fostered a culture of tax compliance among businesses and led to a steady increase in the state’s revenue. This scheme has become a powerful tool for consumer awareness and a symbol of shared responsibility. Businesses have also benefited from this scheme. The state government is striving to make the business system more efficient and transparent.
The Chief Minister stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, a new trust is being instilled in the public by bringing together business, enterprise, and creativity. In a corruption-free and fear-free environment, businesses feel more secure than ever before. On this occasion, the Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to demand bills for every purchase and play an active role in the state’s development by ensuring transparency in transactions.
In this mega lucky draw, 2 winners won electric cars, 16 won cars, 20 won e-scooters, 50 won motorcycles, 100 won laptops, 200 won smart TVs, 500 won tablets, and 1000 won microwaves and other prizes.
