Banshidhar Tiwari, Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director General of Information, has been honored with the National Award for Excellence in Good Governance by the Public Relations Society of India. This award is a testament to his excellent work ethic, transparent decision-making abilities, and people-centric administrative approach. Banshidhar Tiwari is among the select IAS officers of Uttarakhand who have maintained a distinct identity from district administration to the state government level. As Director General of Information, Banshidhar Tiwari has also initiated several important and modern reforms in the department, such as strengthening digital communication, establishing transparent communication between the government and the public, promoting the Right to Information and open access to government functions, and making media management professional and results-oriented. His simple, clear, and results-oriented work style has directly benefited both the common people and the administration.
