In Sambhal, near Khakam village on the Moradabad-Agra highway, a tragic accident occurred on Friday around 8 PM when a truck collided with a motorcycle, killing Anganwadi worker Vimlesh, her husband Suresh, and their son Prateek, all residents of Kamalpur village. The following day, Saturday, after the post-mortem examination, as soon as the bodies of the Anganwadi worker, her husband, and son arrived in the village around 4 PM, the entire village followed the hearse.

As the bodies were taken out of the hearse, the cries of the family members and relatives filled the air. Tears welled up in the eyes of everyone in the village. Family members and relatives were seen clinging to the three bodies, weeping uncontrollably.

Meanwhile, some people, with tearful eyes, tried to comfort the grieving family and relatives. Later that evening, around 7 PM, the last rites were performed for all three. Suresh’s eldest son, Shivam, lit the funeral pyres. Police were also present in the village as a precautionary measure.

Sanjay’s family is devastated and inconsolable
On the Moradabad-Agra highway, a collision involving a canter truck and a motorcycle resulted in the deaths of an Anganwadi worker, her husband and son, and another young man named Sanjay, a resident of Kali Mandir Road in Bahjoi. When Sanjay’s body arrived home around 2:45 PM on Saturday, his family and relatives were overwhelmed with grief and wept uncontrollably. The people in the surrounding area also appeared deeply saddened. Around 3:45 PM, the family performed the last rites for Sanjay. His younger brother, Ankit, lit the funeral pyre.

FIR filed against the truck driver
According to CO Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh, a report has been filed against the truck driver based on a complaint from Kunwarpal, the father of the deceased Sanjay, a resident of Kali Mandir Road locality.

SP MLA and other party leaders also arrived
When the bodies of the Anganwadi worker, her husband, and son arrived in Kamalpur village, a large number of people came to offer their condolences. Among them were SP MLA Pinky Yadav, along with SP leaders Pramod Yadav, former block chief Sanjeev Yadav, Gullu Yadav, and Sunil Yadav, who visited the village and expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.

The accident was caused by fog
On Friday night at 8 PM, a motorcycle was hit by a truck near Khajra turn on the Moradabad-Agra National Highway in the Bahjoi police station area. Suresh (35), his wife Vimlesh (32), their son Prateek (12), and an acquaintance, Sanjay (40), all residents of Kamalpur village, died in the accident. The truck driver claimed that the motorcycle suddenly appeared in front of him and, due to the fog, he couldn’t see it, leading to the accident.

Suresh, who worked and lived in Noida, had come to his village on Friday. In the afternoon, he, along with his wife and son, had gone to meet his father, Omprakash, who lives in Bahjoi. They were returning home around 8 PM when the accident occurred. The District Magistrate arrived at the scene after the accident.

SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said that after the accident, the truck collided with a tree on the side of the road. The driver was trapped inside the truck. The police rescued him after about two hours of effort. Two JCBs and a hydraulic crane were used for the rescue operation. Action will be taken based on the complaint filed.

Due to reduced visibility in the foggy weather, driving on the highway has become difficult. The four people involved in the accident were all riding on the same motorcycle. None of them were wearing helmets. Suresh, Prateek, and Sanjay sustained serious head injuries. People say that their lives could have been saved if they had been wearing helmets.
