Saints and sages appear satisfied with the Uttarakhand government’s decision to include verses from the Bhagavad Gita in school curricula. They welcomed the government’s decision. Reacting to the decision in Haridwar, the saints said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s government is continuously working for the protection and promotion of Sanatan Dharma. They called the inclusion of Gita verses in the school curriculum highly commendable.

The saints and sages welcomed the decision to impart knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita to children in the state’s government schools. They said that the knowledge of the Gita will develop moral values ​​and an understanding of Sanatan Dharma in the students, which will benefit them in their lives. Following the announcement by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the recitation of verses from the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita has been made mandatory in the state’s government schools. This decision will be implemented immediately for students from classes 6 to 12. The education department has also issued an order to this effect. The government says that the objective of this initiative is to connect students with Indian culture, moral values, and philosophy of life, so that along with education, their character and values ​​also develop.

The saint community in Haridwar has openly supported this decision. Shri Mahant Ravindra Puri Maharaj, President of the Akhara Parishad, said that this announcement, made during the month of Sawan, has now been implemented. He said that the recitation of the Gita should not be limited to schools but should also be included in colleges. He called it a positive and inspiring message for society. He said that India is becoming more rooted in Sanatan Dharma, and this initiative will provide the coming generation with the right direction and strong values.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Rajrajeshwarashram Maharaj also praised this decision. He said that the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is one of the most revered scriptures in the world, and all the major philosophies of the country are supported by the principles of the Gita. All the acharyas (spiritual teachers) have also confirmed their principles based on the Gita. Shankaracharya said that this work done by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is highly commendable and will provide moral strength to society.
