Uttarakhand: CM Dhami visits Chamoli, attends Band fair, and announces several development projects for the people

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived in Chamoli today. ​​There, CM Dhami participated in the 24th Bund Development Industrial, Tourism, Farmer and Cultural Fair 2025 in Pipalkoti. District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar and Superintendent of Police Surjit Singh Panwar welcomed the Chief Minister. At the Bund fair, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that such fairs provide a platform for local products and offer a vibrant glimpse of folk culture.

CM Dhami said that all mementos and gifts given by the state government are now being prepared by women from local self-help groups, which is strengthening rural livelihoods. Under the “Government for the People, Government at Every Doorstep” program, the Chief Minister called for the resolution of problems at every Nyaya Panchayat level and appealed to the general public for active participation.

He expressed gratitude to the local residents, traders, farmers, and all those associated with the fair and reiterated the state government’s commitment to promoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s One District One Festival, Vocal for Local, and Made in India campaigns.

The Chief Minister said that new opportunities for development and employment are being created in the state. Work is being done under the master plan in the precincts of Kedarnath and Badrinath. Ropeway construction and rail projects will give new impetus to tourism and the economy. He said that local products and tourism are being promoted through the One District Two Products scheme, the House of Himalayas brand, the State Millet Mission, and the homestay scheme. Currently, more than 800 homestays are operational. Uttarakhand is also rapidly emerging as a wedding destination.

The Chief Minister said that the government, while embracing the principle of Antyodaya (serving the last person), is ensuring that the benefits of schemes reach the last person. It is fully committed to protecting the heritage and culture of Devbhoomi (the land of gods). He informed that more than 10,000 acres of land have been freed from encroachment. A strict land law has been implemented in the state. He said that the government is continuously working towards making Uttarakhand a center of knowledge, education, culture, and development. During this time, the Chief Minister announced the expansion of the Semaldala sports ground, the development of basic facilities including drinking water along the Nanda Devi Raj Jat pilgrimage route, the renaming of the Gwaldam to Tapovan Lord Curzon road to Nanda-Sunanda road, and the beautification of the Rajarajeshwari Temple in Kurud and the construction of a pilgrim rest house at the Anusuya Devi Temple in Mandal.
