Concerns are growing regarding Indian citizens in Iran. According to reports, approximately 10,000 to 12,000 people of Indian origin are currently in Iran. A large number of them are students. Due to the shutdown of internet services in many areas, it is becoming very difficult to contact the students.

Advisory for Indian citizens
Seeing the deteriorating situation in Iran, the Indian Embassy in Tehran issued an advisory for its citizens on Wednesday. It appealed to Indians living in Iran to leave the country as soon as possible. The embassy advised people to exercise extreme caution and stay away from areas of protests or demonstrations.

International pressure is increasing over the harsh crackdown on protests in Iran. This has also led to an exchange of statements between the Iranian government and US President Donald Trump. Trump appealed to the citizens of Iran to continue the protests, saying that help was on its way.
