Nanda Raj Jat Yatra 2026 Postponed!
The Nanda Raj Jat Committee has taken a formal decision in this regard and agreed to hold the pilgrimage in 2027, according to the established cycle. This pilgrimage traditionally takes place every 12 years, and the last full Raj Jat pilgrimage was held in 2014. It has been reported that there is a risk of heavy avalanches and other natural disasters in the high Himalayan regions during the month of September. Accidents have occurred in the past during this month. Therefore, the decision was made to hold the pilgrimage in 2027.

Decision taken due to predictions of a major disaster in Uttarakhand
Traditional prayers for the pilgrimage will be offered on the upcoming Vasant Panchami (Spring Festival), and the exact dates will be finalized then. According to the committee, this decision was made keeping in mind religious traditions, calendar calculations, administrative preparations, and the scale of the pilgrimage, to ensure a safe, well-organized, and spiritually fulfilling experience for the devotees.

Demand for the creation of an authority for the Nanda Raj Jat pilgrimage
The Nanda Raj Jat Committee has demanded that the Dhami government of Uttarakhand create an authority for the Nanda Raj Jat pilgrimage, similar to the one for the Kumbh Mela. They have also demanded a budget of ₹5,000 crore for the organization of the pilgrimage.
