On Saturday evening in Kotdwar, a leopard snatched a one-and-a-half-year-old girl from in front of her house. The child’s body was recovered at 9 PM. The family is devastated by the incident.

This entire incident took place in Barswar village of Jayharikhal development block. Yashika, the granddaughter of former area panchayat member Virendra Lal, was playing in the courtyard of her house with her parents in the evening. Suddenly, a leopard pounced on Yashika. The leopard snatched the child right in front of her parents’ eyes. Hearing the screams, people from the neighborhood rushed to the spot and searched the forest for the child.
Leopard makes the child its prey
After a long search, people found Yashika, but by then the leopard had already killed her. Yashika’s body was found in a terrible condition at 9 PM. The incident has caused panic in the area. This incident occurred in the Palakot forest area of the Lansdowne Forest Division.
