Uttarakhand: A case has been registered against BJP MLA Arvind Pandey’s brothers and nephew

A major news story has emerged from Udham Singh Nagar district. A case has been registered at the Bajpur police station against the brothers and nephews of former cabinet minister and current BJP MLA Arvind Pandey. The police registered the case based on a complaint filed by Sanjay Kumar Bansal.

According to Sanjay Kumar Bansal’s complaint to the police, he owns land in Mundia Pistaura village, with survey number 417. He had given a portion of this land, specifically plot 417/6, to Jay Prakash Tiwari for cultivation and maintenance through a mutual agreement.

Sanjay Kumar Bansal alleges that on July 21, 2025, the authorities summoned him. He also received a notice from the authorities regarding new construction on the land. The notice stated that the construction was illegal and that he should demolish it himself.

Sanjay Kumar Bansal alleges that Devanand and Amar Pandey, along with some of their associates, who were already present at the site, started arguing with him.

He alleges that they all threatened him, saying, “Who are you? This land is ours, we will build whatever we want. Don’t show your face again, or we will kill you. MLA Arvind Pandey is my brother.” Saying this, Devanand threw some papers at Sanjay Kumar Bansal and said, “Read this stamp paper, this land is mine, and you cannot demolish the construction on this land.”

Sanjay Kumar Bansal stated in his complaint that when he picked up the papers, he found that Jay Prakash Tiwari, Devanand Pandey, Mohan Pandey, and Kisan Pandey had colluded to create a fraudulent lease agreement, which was part of a conspiracy to illegally seize his land.

Sanjay Kumar Bansal alleges that he had repeatedly tried to discuss the matter with the accused to reclaim his land, but Arvind Pandey and his brothers intimidated and threatened him. Sanjay Kumar Bansal stated in his complaint that he is a blood pressure patient. He said that if any harm comes to him or his property in the future, these individuals will be held fully responsible. Based on a complaint filed by Sanjay Kumar Bansal, the police have registered a case against MLA Arvind Pandey’s brother Devanand Pandey, cousin Mohan Pandey, nephew Ramanand Pandey, and another person named Jai Prakash Tiwari.
