10 lakh ration card holders of Uttarakhand will get this big relief
In the State Food Scheme, more than 10 lakh ration card holders of APL (above poverty line) are ready to provide big relief at the time of corona epidemic. The 20 kg food grains being given to them will be increased from three months to 12 months. Along with this, two kilos of sugar will also be available on each card. Food Minister Banshidhar Bhagat gave instructions to put the proposal in this regard in the cabinet meeting. At the same time, giving relief to the farmers, the time period for wheat procurement has been extended by two more days, ie till 27th May.
In the Corona period, under the National Food Security Campaign, a total of 61 lakh members of about 13.80 lakh primary families are being provided cheap food grains with the help of the Central Government. Five kg of free food grains per unit is giving big relief to the poor families. In this episode, the state government is giving cheap food grains to about 40 lakh members of APL ration card holder families. They are being given 20 kg of foodgrains instead of seven and a half kilograms from May to July for three months. It has 10 kg of wheat and 10 kg of rice.
In the Assembly on Monday, Food Minister Banshidhar Bhagat told in a departmental meeting that preparations are now being made to give food grains throughout the year. He informed that for wheat farmers, the purchase period is being extended for the second time. Earlier this period was extended from 15 May to 25 May. Now two days has been extended, but wheat procurement will be done only from the already registered farmers. There will be no registration of new farmers. So far, 12.75 lakh quintals of wheat purchased He said that till last month eight lakh quintals of wheat had been purchased.
So far, 12.75 lakh quintals of wheat have been purchased this year. Congratulating the department on record procurement, he asked for further expediting the procurement process. Instructions have been given to do this up to 14 lakh quintals. He directed to release an amount of 13.50 crore out of the bills of 22.50 crore presented under the transportation head of the Cooperative Department. It was informed that the remaining nine crore will be released as soon as it is received from the central government. Apart from this, instructions were also issued to release 25 crore rupees under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana and 20 crore from the state head.
All ration cards will be online within a week
He informed that all ration cards in the state will be made online within a week. Due to not having an Aadhaar card, the work of online ration card was progressing slowly. Now it has been asked to expedite this work. Regarding the Department of Revenue, it was directed that the rate of date of appropriation will be fixed for the applicants who have deposited the money for appropriation. He asked for the release of money and the report of other godowns for fixing the dilapidated godown of FCI of Haldwani. Secretary Sushil Kumar, Additional Secretary Pratap Shah, Joint Commissioner PS Pangati and Mahendra Singh Bisen were present in the meeting.
