Liam Livingstone scored an unbeaten 29 not out as England beat Sri Lanka by five wickets under the Duckworth-Lewis rule in the second T20I on Thursday to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Batting first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka made a modest score of 111 for seven in 20 overs with the help of 39 runs from 39 balls with the help of three fours and a six from Kushal Mendis. Isuru Udana contributed 19 not out off 14 balls with the help of a four and a six. Mark Wood and Adil Rashid took two wickets each for England.

Chasing the target, England lost their top four batsmen for a mere 38 runs but Livingstone, the player of the match, added 54 runs for the fifth wicket with Sam Billings to bring England near the threshold of victory. Billings was dismissed for 24 runs in 29 balls with the help of two fours. Livingstone then along with Sam Karen took England to the floor of victory by making 108 for five in 16.1 overs.
