Uttarakhand CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of Oxygen Generation Plant in 05 hospitals of the state through virtual medium
Chief Minister Shri Tirath Singh Rawat on Saturday inaugurated oxygen generation plants and laid the foundation stone of one oxygen generation plant in 05 hospitals of the state through virtual medium from the camp office at Chief Minister’s residence. The five oxygen generation plants that the Chief Minister inaugurated include 250 LPM in District Hospital Bageshwar, 100 LPM in District Hospital Champawat, 200 LPM in District Hospital Pithoragarh, Himalayan Hospital Jolly Grant. and Coronation Hospital Dehradun includes 1000-1000 LPMK plants. These five plants will produce 4.76 metric tonnes of oxygen per day. 600 LPM with the help of Azim Premji Foundation in Pithoragarh. Oxygen generation plant is being set up, which was inaugurated by the Chief Minister. He also expressed his gratitude to Shri Azim Premji. Social worker Shri Gopal Goswami has provided under CSR for the Oxygen Generation Plant set up at Bageshwar. Oxygen generation plants established at Champawat, Pithoragarh and Dehradun have been received by the Government of India under PM Care Fund. Chief Minister Shri Tirath Singh Rawat said that in the last three months, fast work has been done to increase the health facilities in the state. All preparations have been made in view of the possible third wave of COVID. The number of ICUs, ventilators, oxygen beds has been increased significantly. COVID care centers are being built up to the CHC level also. With the help of the Central Government, modern 500-bedded COVID Care Centers have been set up in Rishikesh and Haldwani. All types of facilities are available in these. In these COVID Care Centers, arrangements have been made for their mother and father to stay in front of the children’s ward. The Chief Minister said that oxygen plants are being set up up to CHC level. At present, 17 oxygen plants are functional in the state, while the work of setting up 17 oxygen plants is going on. Apart from this, approval has been received from the Government of India for 11 Oxygen Generation Plants. There are 5675 oxygen concentrators and 14349 oxygen cylinders available in state hospitals. 2494 oxygen concentrators and 6231 oxygen cylinders are going to be available to the state soon.
Education Minister Shri Arvind Pandey said that all possible efforts are being made by the State Government to bring about rapid improvement in the health sector. The establishment of these oxygen generation plants will bring great relief to the people in the possible third wave of COVID. He said that we all have to contribute for the conservation and promotion of nature. He appealed that on the occasion of Harela festival, more and more people should contribute towards environmental protection by planting trees. On this occasion, Bageshwar MLA Shri Chandan Ram Das, Special Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, Additional Secretary Smt. Sonika, Director General of Health Dr. Tripti Bahuguna, District Magistrates, CMOs and officers of Health Department were present on the occasion.
