Sreejit Mukherjee replaces Rahul Dholakia, will direct Taapsee Pannu’s ‘Shabash Mithu’
Fans are eagerly waiting for Taapsee Pannu’s film Shabaash Mi_u. Earlier, Rahul Dholakia was going to direct this film but now he has left this film, after which he has given information by issuing a statement. Shabaash Mi_u is a biopic of female cricketer Mithali Raj, which will now be directed by Sreejit Mukherjee.
Rahul has told in his statement why he has left this film. He said- There are some films that you want to do. Well done Mi_u was that movie. When I read the script of the film, I had decided that I had to do this film. This was a year and a half ago. Unfortunately, I had to start this journey in November 2019. I will not be able to direct Sochi Kahani written by Priya Avon and written by Ajit Andhare.
Rahul further said- I have many special memories related to this film. Remembering whom I became emotional while seeing this note. This film was always about passion. The story we were trying to tell about the passion of Mithali Raj, one of the finest Indian women’s cricketer. Passion of studio head Ajit who used to sit with us for discussion during Covid and lockdown. A writer like Priya who strikes a balance between cricket and emotion. Passion of Taapsee Pannu who learned to play cricket. It was wonderful to shoot with him. Passion of every member of the team, actor, player who was trying to fulfill his dream.
Unfortunately now I will not be able to be a part of this dream but I will always be with him for his dream. Kovid spoiled everyone’s schedule. Mine is no different. Ajit has a plan for the film and how to release it. I wish him and the team all the best.
Talking about Srijit Mukherjee, he directed Vidya Balan’s film Begum Jaan. He has directed many Bengali films.
