Truth and Reality

There was a ruckus in the Haldwani tour of Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, showed black flags,

During the visit of Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat to Haldwani, Bhim Army workers protested fiercely by showing black flags and raising slogans of ‘Chief Minister go back’. Taking action immediately, the police arrested the protesters and sent them to jail. The protesters have expressed concern that due to the corona epidemic in the state of Uttarakhand, a serious situation has arisen. Lakhs of daily wage laborers are unemployed due to the closure of work and on the other hand more than one lakh Uttarakhandi youth have to return to the state under compulsion. No one is able to earn today. But instead of giving relief to the people, the government is busy collecting its revenue.

Instead of giving relief on water and electricity bills, the prices of electricity have been increased. Perhaps this is the meaning of the Prime Minister’s formula of opportunity in disaster. It is very shameful that when the public is groaning, instead of taking the responsibility, the government is imposing inflation on the people and the laborers and the unemployed have been pushed towards the crisis of starvation. This could have been tackled by recruiting thousands of vacant posts in the backlog, providing employment to the unemployed and reducing inflation, but instead of doing this, the government is making false claims and rhetoric. The BJP government has given the additional gift of inflation and unemployment to the people of Haldwani as well as pollution of illegal trenching grounds, due to which the lives of lakhs of people have been put in danger.

The protesters warned that they would launch a furious agitation if their pending demands were not resolved soon. Demanded that the government should release a relief package for the common man. Said that the vacant posts in government departments should be recruited at the earliest. District President Bhim Army Nafees Ahmed Khan, Circle President Siraj Ahmed, District President ASP Manish Gautam, Mohan Lal Arya, Kailash Chandra, Mohammad Faisal, Irshad Ahmed etc. were present among those who protested.

That’s why we want to demand from the government that-

1- Recruitment of thousands of vacant posts of backlog should be done immediately.
2- Illegal trenching ground from Haldwani should be made at the earliest as per the directions of the court in June 2018.
3- Making a plan to reduce unemployment, all unemployed should be ensured according to their qualifications, till this does not happen, a provision should be made to give monthly unemployment allowance of ten thousand rupees to all the unemployed.
4- Inflation should be stopped.
5- The culprits of the Kovid testing scam should be punished.
6- Weekly markets should be opened.
7- Water and electricity bills should be completely waived.
8- Free ration should be arranged for the migrant laborers.
9- The working days under MNREGA should be increased to 200 days.
10- Immediate employment scheme should be made for daily wage laborers in cities and hills and for the returned Uttarakhandis.
11- Every labor or poor family in the state should be given a minimum assistance of Rs 6000 per month.
