Uttarakhand / Rishikesh : Under the drug de-addiction campaign, the cannabis plants were cut and destroyed

Rajaji Tiger Reserve Park Administration and Laxmanjhula Police have started a campaign against drugs. On Thursday, half a hectare area from the forest in Kunaon was destroyed by cutting the cannabis plant. Along with this, the surrounding villagers were instructed not to use cannabis. On Thursday, a drug de-addiction campaign was conducted in Kunaon under the leadership of Gauhari Range Forest Officer Dhir Singh and Laxmanjhula police station inspector Pramod Uniyal. During this, the cannabis plants grown on half a hectare of land were cut and destroyed. Also informed the villagers about the ill effects of drugs. Forest Officer Dhir Singh told that this route passes for Neelkanth Mahadev. Most of the people pluck the leaves of the cannabis grown in the forest and use it for intoxication. So this campaign was started to keep people away from drugs. Forest Inspector Harpal Singh Gusain, Mahendra Singh, Forest constable Chandramohan Singh, Vipin Kumar, Pradeep Singh Payal etc. were present on the occasion.
