Garbage can now be disposed of from the trenching ground that has become canker in the city. The municipal administration launched the disposal drive of legacy waste here. On Thursday, the program was organized at the trenching ground in Govindnagar. As part of the programme, Mayor Anita Mamgain launched the campaign to dispose of legacy waste. He said that due to the dumping of garbage in the trenching ground for the last four decades, a huge amount of garbage has accumulated here. Due to this, the people of Govindnagar area are forced to face a lot of problems. The resolution of this biggest problem of the city is a historic success for the municipal administration. He said that the plan of solid waste disposal and processing plant could not have been realized without shifting the trenching ground. Even after getting the in-principle approval from the Central Government for setting up a solid waste disposal and processing plant in Lal Pani Room No. 1, there were various technical issues. Necessary steps have been taken for this. Realizing the dream of this ambitious scheme is a big achievement of Rishikesh Municipal Corporation. Under the scheme, the disposal of the garbage of the trenching ground will now be done easily.
