Petrol crosses Rs 100 in Delhi, Kolkata too

After Mumbai and Chennai, now the price of petrol has crossed Rs 100 per liter in Delhi and Kolkata also. Oil marketing companies today increased the price of petrol by 39 paise and diesel by 23 paise per liter in four major metros of the country.

According to leading oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation, the price of petrol in Delhi increased by 35 paise to Rs 100.21 per liter. This is the first time that unbranded petrol has become costlier by Rs 100 per liter in the national capital. Similarly, the price of diesel increased by 17 paise to Rs 89.53 per litre.

The current sequence of increasing the price of petrol and diesel started on May 04. Petrol was costlier by Rs 8.41 and diesel by Rs 8.45 in May and June in Delhi. In July, the price of petrol has increased by Rs 1.40 and that of diesel by 35 paise per liter.
In Kolkata too, petrol became costlier by 39 paise and reached Rs 100.23 per liter. There the price of diesel increased by 23 paise and a liter of diesel was sold for Rs 92.50 per dollar.

In Mumbai, the price of petrol was increased by 32 paise and that of diesel by 18 paise. There now petrol has become Rs 106.25 and diesel Rs 97.09 per liter.
In Chennai, petrol became costlier by 31 paise to Rs 101.06 and diesel by 15 paise to Rs 94.06 per liter.

Petrol and diesel prices are reviewed daily and based on that new prices are implemented every day from 6 am.
