Modi will give projects worth more than Rs 400 crore to Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will gift 65 new projects worth Rs 421.54 crore to the people of Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, on his next visit to the holy city. The Prime Minister’s new gifts include a Central Institute for Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET).

While the final date for the prime minister’s visit is yet to be decided, official sources said he may visit his constituency later this month.

Varanasi is awaiting the inauguration of 75 projects totaling over Rs 736 crore.

During his visit to Varanasi earlier this week, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed details of all completed and ongoing projects in a meeting with officials.

He inspected the Rudraksh International Convention Center built with a budget of Rs 186 crore as a symbol of Indo-Japan friendship.

On his next visit, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Rudraksh to the nation and inaugurate the finished projects and lay the foundation of new projects from the same place.

Meanwhile, talking about new projects, Divisional Commissioner Deepak Agarwal told reporters, “Construction of building of CIPET with a budget of Rs 40.1 crore tops the list for which foundation stone will be laid.

He further said, 12-storey transit hostel for police at Police Line (Rs 24.96 crore), Mango and Vegetable Integrated Pack House in Karkhiao Industrial Area for agricultural product export (Rs 15.78 crore), Foundation stone of an ITI at Mahgaon (Rs 14.16 crore) Rs.), shooting range (Rs 5.04 crore), development of sports infrastructure at Sampurnanand Sports Stadium (Rs 3.86 crore) and beautification of an ashram at Manikarnika Ghat (Rs 15.81 crore) are also on the cards.

Eight urban development projects at Sis-Varna at a cost of Rs 108.53 crore, water supply works at Varuna Par at a cost of Rs 19.49 crore, two MW solar power plants at Bhelupur at a cost of Rs 17.24 crore and laying sewer lines. Work will also be started in Koniya Ghat area with Rs 15.03 crore.

12 projects of rural connectivity roads worth Rs 86.07 crore and renovation and repair of 35 rural roads worth Rs 25.19 crore will also be taken up.
