Three days mourning in Himachal on the death of Virbhadra
The Himachal Pradesh government today announced three days of mourning on the death of veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who served as the Chief Minister for six terms. The government has declared three days of state mourning.
Veteran Congress leader Virbhadra Singh passed away at the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH) here in the early hours of July 8, battling a three-month-long battle with complications from COVID.
There will be no official entertainment programs during this period. All state government offices including boards, corporations and autonomous institutions will remain closed on Thursday, except those dealing with essential services.
