Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with the Prime Minister of Vietnam, His Excellency Pham Minh Chin, today.
Prime Minister Modi congratulated Pham Minh Chin on his appointment as Prime Minister of Vietnam and expressed confidence that the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to strengthen under his able guidance.
Prime Minister Modi welcomed the fact that the two countries share a common vision on an open, inclusive, peaceful and rules-based Indian Ocean region and therefore this Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Vietnam can promote regional stability, prosperity and development. can contribute in giving. In this context, the Prime Minister also mentioned that at present both India and Vietnam are fellow members of the UN Security Council.
Prime Minister thanked Prime Minister Chin for the valuable support provided by the government and people of Vietnam during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The two leaders agreed that the two countries should continue to consult and cooperate to support the efforts being made against this global pandemic.
The two Prime Ministers reviewed the status of bilateral relations and shared their views on various areas of cooperation. Noting that the year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the two leaders also agreed that various celebrations would be organized in a grand manner to make this auspicious occasion unforgettable.
