CPL will start from August 26 after talks with BCCI

The 2021 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will start from 26 August. The tournament organizers confirmed this. Last month, the CPL organizers agreed with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ensure that the tournament does not clash with the IPL. The entire CPL will be played in St Kitts and Nevis as per the original schedule.
In May this month, after the IPL was postponed due to Kovid 19, the BCCI decided to hold the remaining 31 matches in the UAE in September-October. In order to ensure that the top West Indies players remain available for the remainder of the IPL tournament, the BCCI urged the West Indies Board to make some changes to the CPL’s schedule.
The CPL was to start on 28 August and end on 19 September but now it will start from 26 August and the semi-finals will be played on 14 September and the final on 15 September. IPL will start three or four days after CPL ends.
