5.5-magnitude earthquake hits Japan

An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck Japan’s Hachijojima Islands on Friday. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the quake occurred at around 1.20 pm, with its epicenter located at latitude 33.2 degrees north and longitude 139.4 degrees east, and a depth of 10 km. No tsunami warning has been issued so far.
