Goa to organize Tokyo Olympics awareness and publicity program from July 23 to August 8

Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Tourism and President of Goa Olympic Association Shripad Nayak announced that Goa will organize Tokyo Olympics awareness and publicity program from July 23 to August 8.

Nayak appealed to the Goans to come forward and encourage the Indian athletes. He said that this would inculcate interest in sports in the minds of the students. This 17 days awareness campaign includes daily live telecast of Olympic events on big screens at Kadamba Bus Stand, Panaji and Agakhan Municipal Park, Margao. After the daily programmes, eminent sportspersons will be felicitated at both the venues.

It is noteworthy that four cycle rallies with cycling associations and cycling clubs have also been planned in North Goa and South Goa districts, while a mini marathon at Ponda and a tennis ball cricket match at the indoor stadium in Mapusa. On the other hand, in collaboration with Mapusa Rotaract Club and Margao Rotary Club, Olympic Games will be organized for Higher Secondary School and College. During this, former President of Goa Olympic Association and President of National Associations of Goa and patrons of State Sports Federations will also be honored.
