Uttarakhand / Haridwar : Plantation done in BHEL on the occasion of Harela festival

A plantation program was organized at BHEL on the occasion of ‘Hareela Parv’, which is celebrated as Hariyali Utsav. During the program, Dr. Lalit Narayan Mishra, Secretary, HRDA, Sanjay Gulati, Executive Director of BHEL and Yogi Rajneesh planted medicinal plants of different species in Trishul guest house premises. K. Yashasvi Sharma, the brand ambassador of HRDA’s “Aryuplants Mission” also participated in the program and planted saplings. On this occasion, Dr. Lalit Narayan Mishra said that plantation of medicinal plants will help in maintaining environmental balance on one hand and on the other hand Ayurvedic medicines will also be available to fight diseases. He also appreciated the efforts being made by BHEL towards environmental protection. Sanjay Gulati, Executive Director, BHEL said that life cannot be imagined without saving the environment. He said that BHEL is constantly striving for environmental protection and promotion and will continue to promote such activities in future also. Ku. Yashasvi Sharma said that trees give us oxygen. That’s why we should plant more and more trees. The officers and employees of BHEL involved in the program also gave a message of environmental awareness by planting saplings of Tulsi, Giloy and Aloe Vera etc. It is noteworthy that in Uttarakhand, Harela festival is celebrated as a tree plantation festival and there is a tradition of planting trees on this day. It is believed that the trees and plants planted on the day of Harela are always green. On this occasion many senior officers and employees of BHEL including General Manager (HR) RR Sharma and Principal of HR Public School Luxor Meenakshi Agrawal were present.
