Initial rally in stock market, Sensex rises more than 450 points
Domestic stock markets also returned on Thursday amid positive cues from overseas and the 30-share BSE Sensex climbed over 450 points in early trade. The Sensex opened at 52,494.56 with a jump of 296.05 points and climbed up to 52,682.13 points in a short time. Last trading day it closed at 52,198.51 points.
Due to the strength in the US stock markets on Wednesday, other Asian stock markets were also in the green today.
At the time of writing the news, Bajaj Finance’s stock was up more than three percent in the Sensex. HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Tata Steel also gained over 1.5 per cent. Strong selling was also seen in medium and small companies.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange rose 104.50 points to open at 15,736.60 and reached 15,770.85 points. It closed at 15,632.10 on the previous trading day on Tuesday.
