Investors will keep an eye on global factors
After the last week’s fall in the domestic stock markets under global pressure, in the coming week also, the eyes of investors will be mainly on foreign factors. There was concern in the market last week due to the increase in the cases of delta version of COVID-19 abroad. Investors are expected to be cautious this week. Along with this, the impact of the epidemic and vaccination progress at the domestic level and the statistics of eight major industry sectors will also be visible on the market.
The last week was full of volatility for the domestic stock market. The BSE Sensex fell 164.26 points, or 0.31 per cent, to 52,975.80 on Friday and the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed 67.35 points or 0.42 per cent lower at 15,856.05 on the weekend. On Wednesday, due to the holiday of Bakrid, the market was trading for only four days. On Monday and Tuesday, Sensex and Nifty closed in the red, while on Thursday and Friday it was bullish.
Indices of medium and small companies also closed in losses. During the week, BSE Midcap slipped 0.47 per cent to 23,021.14 points and Smallcap fell 0.14 per cent to 26,425.91 points.
