8 more Indian players were in touch with Krunal Pandya, all out of T20 series!

The second T20 match between India and Sri Lanka will be played on Wednesday. Although earlier this match was to be played on Tuesday, July 27, but it was postponed after Krunal Pandya’s COVID report came positive from the Indian camp. Now the second T20 match will be played on Wednesday and the third match will be played on Thursday. However, 9 Indian players will not play in this match.
Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, openers Devdutt Padikkal and Krishnappa Gautam will not play against Sri Lanka. It is believed that all of them were in close contact with Krunal. Two names in his close contacts have not been confirmed yet.
However, the good news is that the first COVID report of all 8 people who are close contacts of Krunal has come negative. According to sources, the players of both the teams will be tested again on Wednesday. According to the source some cricketers are in complete isolation and they will not be able to play the remaining two matches of the series. Sri Lanka Cricket Board is monitoring the situation.
Under Sri Lanka’s health safety protocol, Krunal will not be able to return home with the rest of the Indian team on July 30. They will have to wait for negative RT PCR after completing the mandatory isolation period. India won the first match by 38 runs under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan and now they will be eyeing to capture the series when the match is done.
