‘Twitter also showed him the door’: BJP MP targets Rahul Gandhi

In the matter of locking the Twitter account, BJP has taken a jibe at former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. The action has been taken on behalf of the microblogging site for violating the company’s policy and posting photographs of the family of a 9-year-old Dalit girl who was allegedly raped in Delhi. Rahul had gone to Delhi on August 1 to meet the family of this girl and after that he posted the photo. BJP’s firebrand leader and Lok Sabha MP Tejashwi Surya targeted his ‘colleague’ of Parliament in this matter. Tejashwi termed Rahul’s post as ‘illegal and inhuman’. News agency PTI quoted Tejashwi Surya as saying, “After tweeting the photo of the family of the rape and murder victim, Rahul can no longer take the guise of the argument of freedom of expression.”
Tejasswi Surya said, ‘That place was the only active on Twitter, unfortunately Twitter also showed them the door.’ . Significantly, earlier this morning, leader Rahul Gandhi had strongly criticized Twitter for blocking his account and called it an attack on India’s democratic structure.
Rahul Gandhi, in a video message released on YouTube titled “Twitter ka Dangerous game”, took a jibe at Twitter alleging that the social media platform was “interfering in our political process”. Rahul said, “As Indians we have to ask this question – are we going to allow companies to define our politics for us only for the Government of India? Is this going to happen in the times to come? ? Or will we define our own politics?” Congress claimed the party’s Twitter account was locked. The party had also claimed late on Wednesday that action has also been taken against the accounts of five senior leaders including Randeep Surjewala. The Twitter accounts of All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and former Union minister Ajay Maken, party whip in Lok Sabha Manickam Tagore, Assam in-charge and former Union minister Jitendra Singh and Mahila Congress President Sushmita Dev have been suspended, the party said. . Congress wrote in the post, “Modiji, why are you so scared? Take care: Congress party has fought for the freedom of the country, with truth, non-violence and the will of the people. We won even then, we again will win”
