England to tour Pakistan in October : PCB

The England men’s cricket team will tour Pakistan in October and play two T20Is against Pakistan at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed this on Friday.

Along with the men’s team, the England women’s team will also play two T20s and three ODIs against the Pakistan women’s team at the same venue this month. The T20 matches will be double-headed and will be played on October 13 and 14. According to the PCB, the men’s team led by Eoin Morgan will reach Islamabad on October 9 along with the women’s team of Heather Knight. After the completion of the T20 series, the England men’s team will leave for Dubai on 15 October for the ICC T20 World Cup, although the England women’s team will play three ODIs on 17, 19 and 21 October respectively.

It is noteworthy that the T20 matches were earlier scheduled to be held at the National Stadium in Karachi on October 14 and 15, but have been rescheduled due to operational and logistical reasons. PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said in a statement, “We are delighted to welcome the England men’s and women’s cricket team. While the England men’s team is touring Pakistan for the first time since 2005, this will be the women’s tour of Pakistan, although the England men’s team is scheduled to return to Pakistan in the last quarter of 2022 for the white ball and ICC World Test Championship series.
