Ghani is not in Kazakhstan: Foreign Ministry
The Kazakhstan government has said that former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani is not in Kazakhstan.
Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Aibek Smadyarov gave this information to Sputnik on Monday. He told the agency over the phone that Mr. Ghani, who left the country after resigning from office to stop violence following the Taliban’s capture of the Afghan capital, Kabul, is not in Kazakhstan.
Earlier in the day, Tajikistan’s foreign ministry said Mr Ghani’s plane did not land in Tajikistan or enter its airspace.
