Former Florida deputy sentenced to 35 years in prison for sexual assault

A former deputy accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in the US state of Florida has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.
Travis Ryan Pritchard, 38, was sentenced Tuesday in Jacksonville federal court, according to court documents.
According to the criminal complaint, Pritchard started chatting with the girl in December 2019 through an online chat app. Several months before this he had met this girl at a shop. The two shared objectionable pictures and started having sex.
The girl’s mother approached the police in April 2020. Investigators hatched a plan to capture Pritchard. He arranged for their meeting at the girl’s house on May 1, 2020. Pritchard arrived at his home the next morning and was arrested shortly after.
