Seven injured in terrorist attack in Auckland
Seven people were injured, three of them in critical condition, in a terrorist attack in New Zealand’s Auckland city.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said a man attacked a supermarket in Auckland with a knife, injuring seven. Ms Ardern called it a terrorist attack.
Ms Ardern said, we now know that a total of seven people were injured yesterday. There are five people in the hospital, three are in critical condition. The attacker was killed at the site of the attack. The attacker had arrived in New Zealand from Sri Lanka in 2011 and was under surveillance by the police due to his extremist views.
