Uttarakhand / New Tehri : Cleanliness workers honored

Cleanliness workers organized a program in a hotel and welcomed the Director of State Cleanliness workers Commission, Jaipal Valmiki and the officials of National Maharishi Valmiki Army. Valmiki Samaj also put forth their demands on this occasion. Sanitation workers were also honored for doing better work during the Corona period. In the program, the Director of the Cleanliness workers Commission said that talks have been held with the Chief Minister regarding the problems of the Cleanliness workers. In the entire state, through contractors or through companies, cleaning workers are being made to work at very low wages. When the BJP government comes to power in the 2022 assembly elections, work will be done to drive out the contracting system and outsourced companies from across the state. Direct sanitation workers will be recruited. In 2014, the collective insurance of the sanitation workers of the state was closed, which has been started again through the commission. The Congress government had created a structure of local bodies, in which one time settlement was done by declaring the posts of Cleanliness workers dead. The commission requested the Chief Minister in writing that there is a need to amend it. Sunil Kumar Valmiki, Rakesh Lovely, Nandu Valmiki, Dharamvir Gehlot, Sumit Kangra, Rinku Valmiki, Sanjay Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Rajan Kumar, Aditya Rajan etc. were present in the program.
