The stock market broke records in the festive season, Sensex crossed 61000 for the first time, Nifty also at new highs
The stock market remains buoyant during the festive season. The market has set another new record on Thursday. For the first time, Sensex opened at 61,088 and Nifty at 18,272 level. At present, the Sensex is trading 370 points higher at 61,100, the Nifty is trading 100 points higher at 18,260. Both the indices are at new highs. Both BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed at new record levels. The market remained bullish as investors continued to buy shares in auto, power and infrastructure sectors. The Sensex based on thirty shares had gone up to 60,836.63 points during trading at one time. In the end, it closed at a record high of 60,737.05, jumping 452.74 points or 0.75 percent. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 18,161.75, up 169.80 points, or 0.94 per cent. During the business, this record had gone up to 18,197.80 points.
The bullish trend in the stock markets continued on Wednesday for the fifth consecutive trading session. BSE Sensex jumped 453 points to close at new record level. At the same time, with the continued rally in the stock market, the market capitalization of listed companies on BSE reached a new record level of Rs 2,70,24,154.49 crore in early trade on Wednesday.
The Sensex had gone up to 60,836.63 points during trading at one time. In the end, it jumped 452.74 points to close at a record high of 60,737.05. Mahindra & Mahindra was the top gainer with Sensex shares rising over 5 per cent. Apart from this, ITC, L&T, Tech Mahindra, Titan and Tata Steel were also the main gainers.
