Uttar Pradesh / Jhansi : When the protest increased in the name of the railway station, the MP overturned, said – the mistake is being rectified

The name of Jhansi Railway Station was changed to Veerangana Laxmibai Railway Station in a notification issued by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 28 December 2021. Jhansi-Lalitpur MP Anurag Sharma was also among those who took credit for the renaming of the station. But, after the removal of Jhansi from the name of the station, the local people started protesting. All the parties were unanimous on this issue. Even after reaching the station, the Congressmen had written Jhansi with paint in front of the name on the stone board.
Sadar MLA Ravi Sharma had also written a letter to the Railway Minister demanding to add the name of Jhansi in the station. Seeing the protest increasing, the MPs have turned around. He said that Jhansi has been left out of the station’s name due to clerical error. A letter has been written to the Chief Minister and the Railway Minister to rectify the mistake. It is a long process, but every effort is being made.
