Uttar Pradesh / Prayagraj : Landlord’s brother shoots female tenant


Sangeeta Soni (40), a resident of Dhoomanganj’s Niwa, was gunned down. It is alleged that in a dispute over vacating the room, the landlord’s brother fired four bullets at him with a licensed pistol. He was taken to SRN Hospital in critical condition where doctors declared him brought dead.
Originally from Puramufti, Sangeeta was married to Ramnarayan, a resident of Ismailpur in Soraon. He also has three children. The couple were living on rent in Suresh Singh’s house in Bhola Ka Purva locality of Neeva for the last three years with their children. Suresh lives in his native village in Fatehpur, while Abhimanyu and his three other brothers live in Bhola’s purva.
Abhimanyu had been pressurizing Sangeeta and her husband to vacate the house for the past several days. Even three days ago, there was a dispute regarding this matter. According to the police, the relatives told that around 10 am on Thursday, Sangeeta had gone to spread clothes on the terrace. Meanwhile, Abhimanyu started talking to him about vacating the house again from the house located in front.
He talked about vacating the house in a few days, on which he got furious. It is alleged that the very next moment he came inside the house with his licensed pistol. When she saw Sangeeta coming down the stairs, she started screaming. Then he started firing. In which three bullets hit her chest, throat and stomach and she fell down.
Hearing the sound of gunshots, the people around ran away and the accused fled. On information, the police reached and rushed the woman to SRN Hospital. By that time it was too late. The doctors declared him brought dead. After investigation, the police sent the body for post-mortem.

The dispute was going on for a long time
It is said that there was a dispute going on for a long time with the landlord regarding vacating Sangeeta’s house. There was a lot of ruckus about this even three days ago. On Thursday, the landlord’s brother Ashwani Shukla had arrived with a licensed pistol.
There was a dispute again to vacate the house. During this, Ashwani shot Sangeeta with a pistol. Due to this he fell on the ground bleeding. This caused panic in the family. He was being rushed to the hospital when he died on the way. The accused fled after the incident. On receiving the information, the police of Dhumanganj police station including SP City reached the spot.
