Haryana / Gurugram :BSF commandant arrested along with sister and wife for cheating of 125 crores
A case of cheating of Rs 125 crore from five builders has come to the fore in the name of getting contracts for construction works in the National Security Guard (NSG) campus. The Gurugram Police has arrested Border Security Force (BSF) commandant Praveen Yadav, his wife Mamta Yadav, Axis Bank manager sister Rituraj Yadav and a middleman Dinesh Kumar from Zirakpur in Punjab.
ACP Crime Preetpal Sangwan said that cash worth Rs 13.81 crore and four luxury cars have been recovered from them. Assistant Commandant Naveen Yadav posted in NSG is absconding in the case. He is the brother-in-law of Praveen Yadav, the mastermind in the relationship and is currently posted in Manesar. The ACP said that the mastermind Praveen Yadav is a resident of Kheda Khurrampur in Gurugram. Dinesh is a resident of Hisar. He said that on January 8, builder Narayan Das Israni had lodged an FIR in Manesar.
According to him, Praveen Yadav duped him of Rs 64.49 crore in the name of getting contracts in the NSG campus by pretending to be an IPS officer. It also includes Rituraj. He is a Branch Manager at Axis Bank located at Sapphire Mall in Sector 81. He is accompanied by Naveen Yadav, Assistant Commandant in NSG. On January 9, another builder Devendra Yadav had complained of cheating of Rs 37 crore. In the investigation so far, it has also been revealed that the accused used to invest this amount in the stock market, in which he has made a loss. The police have taken Praveen Yadav on remand for 6 days and the rest of the Orpis for three days.
Mastermind created fake company
Praveen had created this fake company at the address of NSG. Investigation revealed that the company had nothing to do with NSG. He had made wife Mamta Yadav and sister Rituraj as directors. He was posted to NSG on deputation from BSF four years ago. Later he was appointed in BSF. Then he applied for voluntary retirement. However the application has not been accepted yet. During his posting in NSG, he was in charge of the construction division. Since then he was cheating in the name of getting construction work in NSG.
