Priyanka Chopra’s film Mary Kom is the one of the best movie of the actress’s career. For this film, Priyanka garnered accolades from all sides. But questions were also raised regarding the casting of Priyanka for the character of boxer Mary Kom in the film. People said that a North-East female should have been taken for the role of Mary. Now in a recent interview, Priyanka has also accepted this.

In an interview given to Vanity Fair, Priyanka said- ‘When I was playing the role of Mary Kom, I was initially hesitant to take that role because Mary is a living icon and she has inspired many female athletes. Is. Plus I don’t look like him in any way. They are from North East India and I from North India, we don’t look alike physically.

If seen, some North East should have got that role. But as an actor, I was in greed that I would get a chance to tell her story, because she has inspired me a lot, as a woman, as an Indian woman and as an athlete. When the filmmakers insisted on doing that role, I thought I would do this character.
