Weekend curfew again in Jammu and Kashmir as Corona cases increase

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has imposed a ‘complete ban’ on non-essential movement during the weekend in the union territory from Saturday amid a rise in the number of Kovid-19 cases. On Friday, 2,456 new cases were found in the state. Announcing the decision taken at a meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) chaired by Chief Secretary AK Mehta, officials said that night curfew will remain in force and education in schools and colleges will continue through online mode.
After reviewing the status of COVID-19 weekly, Mehta said that in view of the uneven trend of daily cases as well as the rising infection rate, there is a need to continue with the existing COVID containment measures in all districts as well as take additional steps. .
In his recent order, Mehta said, “There will be a complete ban on non-essential movement throughout the weekend in Jammu and Kashmir.”
