Uttarakhand : Mahants sitting on dharna on the banks of Ganga for the release of Wasim Rizvi

The Mahants, who organized the ‘Dharma Sansad’, have now sat on a dharna on the banks of the Ganges. He is protesting for the release of Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Tyagi, who was arrested in this case. Mahant Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati of Dasna Devi Temple in Ghaziabad started dharna by putting up a tent at Sarvanand Ghat in Har Ki Pauri on Thursday. Many supporters are also present with him.

Let us inform that in the program organized by Narasimhanand, Mahatma Gandhi was also called bad and bridges were built to praise Nathuram Godse. Apart from this, provocative and violent speeches were made against minorities in this program. On Thursday evening, the police arrested Waseem Rizvi. He has been the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board. On 6 December he converted to Hinduism and changed his name to Jitendra Narayan Tyagi. Rizvi is also an accused in the matter of giving hate speech in the Dharma Sansad held in Haridwar from 17 to 19 December. The Supreme Court had issued notices to the Center and the Uttarakhand government in this matter, saying that the governments have failed to stop programs advocating such genocide.

Narasimhanand, who was protesting in Haridwar, said, ‘Tyagi was with me when he was arrested. I told the police to arrest me too, I am also a co-accused but they did not listen to me. Now I am doing satyagraha and I will not take food and water till Tyagi is released.

Let us inform that when Tyagi’s police was arresting, a video of Narasimhanand was also saying, ‘You all will be killed, your children will also be killed.’ Haridwar City SP Swatantra Kumar said on Tyagi’s arrest. He had made controversial remarks during the release of a book at the Press Club on November 12. A case was registered against him under 153A. After this, a case was registered again under sections 153A and 295 for giving a controversial speech in the Parliament of Religions. Haridwar Senior Superintendent Yogendra Singh Rawat said that Jitendra Tyagi has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days from the court. Some people have been summoned and in the coming days some others will also be arrested.
